The main lines of the Grand Bleu are defined by the bodywork of the Type 35B from the side, but the character of the Type 59 version also appears in it. For the shape of the head, I tried to smuggle in more elements from the Bugatti: for example, with the grille-like arc in the centre of the head, the many cylindrical eye shapes were based on the round lights of the time.
The name Grand Bleu comes from a 1927 Bugatti Type 35B sports car. Racing cars of the time were typically painted in national colours, the specific shade varying depending on the region where the team was formed. The colour of this car is therefore called “Bleu Grand Prix Lyonnais” – hence the name and the blue colour.

Grand Bleu fő vonalait a Type 35B kocsiszekrénye határozza meg oldalról, de a Type 59-es változat karaktere is megjelenik benne. A fej formájánál igyekeztem még több elemet becsempészni a Bugattiból: pl a fej középvonalában a hűtőrács-szerű szorma ívével, a sok hengeres szemformák alapja a korabeli kerek lámpák voltak.
A Grand Bleu név egy 1927-es Bugatti Type 35B sportkocsiból ered. A korabeli versenyautókat jellemzően nemzeti színűre festették, a konkrét árnyalat a régiótól függően változott, ahol a létrejött a csapat. Ennek az autónak a színét ezért „Bleu Grand Prix Lyonnais”-nak hívják – innen a név és a kék szín.
